Paint Mines Shoot with Mecla

Collaboration has been at the heart of what I do since the beginning of my time running Goldyn (aka a lifetime ago), an e-commerce and Denver-based designer boutique. So when one of my beloved former employees, Mecla Soyer, asked if I’d lend my jewels to accessorize a shoot for her beautiful new clothing line (also named Mecla), of course I said yes. I’ve always been grateful to have someone as real, grounded, and conscientious as Mecla in my life, and her talents never cease to amaze me. When she told me she was launching a clothing line, I knew it would be good. I was not wrong!

Mecla’s collection consists of thoroughly well-made, minimalist pieces that are perfect for everyday life – from lounging, a Zoom meeting, to heading out on the town. The collection is sustainably made by hand, by Mecla and a couple local sewers, which of course I love as a sustainable brand myself. Needless to say, our collections resonate.

I ended up joining Mecla and the crew on the shoot, which took place at a magical place called the Paint Mines in south eastern Colorado. Mecla enlisted photographer Anna Chiara Garland for the shoot, whom I was likewise super thrilled to work with. Friends Mary, Angelina, Jen, and Mecla’s daughter Neyla modeled for what turned out to be an incredibly hot but super fun day together. Enjoy!
