Field Trip: NYC
Every year, I take a solo trip. It’s something I started doing about ten years ago now, and it’s just become a non-negotiable for me. There’s truly nothing like solo travel to remind you of who you are, what you want, and what you’re capable of. This year, for my birthday, I chose NYC. I’d been there many times for work in the past, but hadn’t had a chance to just experience it for myself, at my own pace. My birthday falls during Pride weekend in NYC (how fitting for the newly-out, mid-life queer that I am!), so the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.
Birthday dinner at Raoul’s in SoHo. The steak au poivre is legendary and I would 100% go back just for that.
Anchored in the city… wearing my new Anchored Chain (coming soon to the shop)!
The Jenny Holzer retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art. A must-see if you’re in NYC this summer.
Stunning ironwork on a building in the West Village
Company XIV’s jaw-dropping cabaret, ‘Cocktail Magique’
The Queen of Hearts herself at Company XIV
A mermaid moment at Company XIV... Little did I know that this would foreshadow the FW24 Talisman collection!
Dressed up and ready for a night out in the city. Wearing the Ra Signet Ring , Protective Eye Stud , and Mini Orb Stud .
A chain vendor’s case is a jewelry designer’s candy store. I spent way too long here but zero regrets.
With the amazing Koko Bayer, holding down the Pride heart in the West Village
Spotted at the Comedy Cellar... Judd Apatow?! NYC really does have everything.
The most perfect little shop in the West Village, Daily Goods , run by former fashion editor turned small shop owner. Absolutely loved it.
